How to Ensure that your Article Gets Published?
As the owner of a number of article directories, there are several common mistakes that have been made by some of the authors who have submitted to my directories and which may directly affect how successful their article will be in helping to promote their website.
One of the first mistakes that is commonly made is that the author does not read their article over to ensure that there are no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. Although sometimes occasionally the odd spelling mistake may go unnoticed, it is not uncommon to find an article with errors throughout it. Unfortunately this seems to convey an opinion to the reader that the author is not particularly bothered how the article looks and seems to only want to use this form of promotion to get their website link out to as many sites as possible through their resource box.
However if you wish to gain traffic to your website by using an article directory, then it is important that you ensure that your article is interesting, well written and both spelling and grammar are correct. Readers are more likely to respect you as an author and will in all honesty read all of your article as well as clicking on to your link in your resource box. An author who decides not to carry out a spell check of the article/s they have written will find that not only are they missing out on a lot of promotion to their website but it also means that they are likely to find their articles being rejected, which could result in a decrease in the amount of direct traffic they would have received if the article had been accepted.
Another surprising mistake made by some authors, although not very common along with spelling and grammar mistakes is an incorrect or broken link that they have provided in their resource box. This box is where a reader will be provided with a brief promotional segment about the author and their site and will also offer the chance for the reader to visit the site through a link. However, on some occasions the mistake is made in the URL that has been entered by the author. An example where some one has put in an incorrect URL is say "razrlife.info" and they have spelt it as "rasrlife.info". As you can see that this is an obvious typing error, which many owners/editors of article directories will correct. However, it is possible that a lot of traffic as well as increased link popularity is being lost due to directory editors/owners who miss this sort of error and accept the article as it is.
A further problem that seems to occur with new authors, and seems to be the pet hate of some of the other article directory owners on the internet is that the author has not read the sites article submission guidelines and terms of service prior to them actually submitting their article. One of things that will show a directory owner if their guidelines are not being followed is the number of links being placed in the resource box. Remember do not place any more than one link in to your resource box and certainly do not add a direct link to any affiliate program that you are in. Although, there are some errors that can be easily rectified by the directories owner or editor/s such things as not abiding by the submission guidelines can result in an article being rejected, this is due to the amount of articles that are being submitted, and which directory owners and editors simply do not have the time to correct all articles.
If an author would like to increase the chances of their article being accepted then they should ensure that the layout is perfectly formatted. This does not mean that the article has to be formatted to a specific line width, but it should in fact flow from the end of one line and on to the next. Ensure that there is a line space between each paragraph once completed.
Finally, the most important thing that any author should remember before submitting any articles to a directory is to read it through and double check it for mistakes. By doing this an author will provide themselves with a better chance of having the article they have written accepted when submitted.
