Time Travel To the Attack on Pearl Harbor
Few events have rocked the world like the attack on Pearl Harbor. 9/11 was the first event in several decades to rival the sense of loss and tragedy. The attack on Pearl Harbor created the sense of urgency America needed to finally get into the war. Without the attack, it could have been another few years before America got involved.
By then would it have been too late? Would Hitler have managed to get such a foothold in Europe that his conquering of the world would have been inevitable? Would America have eventually fallen to the Axis powers, or would the end result have been a war torn world far worse and for a much longer duration than what actually occurred in World War II?
What if a man could travel back into the past to December 7, 1941? Could he stop the attack, or is it part of destiny or Devine Will? What if the man had lost a loved one, maybe a brother, during the battle? Could he at least save that one person? If time travel were possible, then would it be possible to change the course of time? Would we want too?
We often question acts of God and huge scale tragedies of this nature, but what if we got our way? What if we could change the tragedies that have plagued mankind in history? Would it make things better, or bring on even worse events further down the road?
If you could stop the attack on Pearl Harbor would you doom the world to Nazism? Anyone from that decade would only conclude that stopping the attack on Pearl Harbor would have been the correct thing to do, but someone with the benefit of the knowledge of history might not make the same conclusion.
These are the type of questions we often wonder when we ask," What if time travel were possible". In the online graphic novel, Time-Rider at Superherouniverse.com we explore these questions and more with an added sense of comic book heroism added to the mix.
In the upcoming 5th issue that will be online sometime in late February or early March, the main character, whose real identity is John Martin, must face the terrible question of whether or not he can save his brother during the attack on Pearl Harbor. The first 4 issues have been leading up to this point, and as the story arc continues you will see possible answers and outcomes to all the questions we have put forth above.
