Get Poor Quick
Yes, you read that right – this article is about getting poor quick. No “get rich quick” stuff in here. No fairytales today.
Let’s be honest: Most people enter the wonderful world of home based business (and MLM in special) out of a desperate need for money. I sure did.
These people search the internet for keywords like “make money online”, “work at home” or – worst of all – “get rich quick”. And they come up with hundreds and hundreds of affiliate pages with exact these headlines. They join one of those programs, invest the small or not-so-small fee, start trying to sell some weird products to all of their friends and relatives, spend the little money they can find between the pillows on their sofas on advertising, live their lives between hope and desperation, watch their downlines grow like oak trees (as to speed, not size) and their debt grow like bamboo in the jungle of India (as to speed and size) and eventually give up.
Just to move on to the next “great opportunity”. They cannot fail this time, as meanwhile they’re experienced. They must not fail this time, as meanwhile they’re in really big need for money. They fail again, anyway.
They end up broke.
Been there. Done that.
If only these poor souls would get the truth while it’s not too late yet. And indeed it’s such a wonderful truth: You can become rich doing online marketing. You can become rich doing MLM.
If you simply forget about getting rich quick and start focussing on getting rich slowly.
You don’t need to spend tons of money on buying leads or giving away free DVDs to your prospects or making as many cold calls as you can before the telephone company puts you offline. You don’t need to borrow money from your brother-in-law for promoting that “guaranteed financial success” stuff you wanted him to get involved in the other day.
There are great ways to promote your business for free. Things like traffic exchanges (the good ones, not the bad ones, of course). Just give them time to work. You only get one referral every month or two? Who cares – you don’t pay for them anyway! You know what? You can easily get them to do the same things you do. If instead you paid big bucks every single month, do you think your referrals – most of them entering this business out of a desperate need for money – were able to duplicate your methods? Heck, of course not!
I guess it’s all been said. Once more.
