In network marketing, generating leads is essential. Without leads, you won’t make sales, and you also won’t be recruiting any downline members to make sales. You must generate leads. But how does one generate leads?
First, you should never rely on one method for lead generation. You should have multiple methods of generating leads. This is very important, because lead sources may dry up over time or become obsolete for various reasons. Make sure that you use multiple lead generation methods.
Start by developing your own website, and make the topic of your website relevant to what you are trying to sell. Make this a content site, as opposed to a sales letter. Set up a squeeze page, where you can collect the names and email addresses of visitors. A good way to do this is to offer something such as an ebook for free. In order to receive the ebook, the visitor will give you their contact information.
When using this method, make the content of the site or the free giveaway targeted to either potential customers or to potential downline members, depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
Make sure that you follow up with these leads via your autoresponder by publishing a newsletter for potential customers, on a topic that relates to the product and with a separate newsletter for potential downline members.
Another method for generating leads is a direct mail campaign. Simply rent a list of people who may be interested in what you are selling, develop a postcard, set up a toll-free number with a recording, and send out the mailing. Interested customers can call the toll-free number, hear the recording, and then leave their name and address to receive the next phase of your campaign.
You can also obtain lists for cold-calling. Cold calling is not easy, however, and most people do not enjoy this aspect of network marketing – or any other type of marketing. It is always best to have the customer approach you!
