Sodium Selenite and Health
Sodium Selenite (Selenium), an essential trace mineral and micronutrient is one of many antioxidants-substances that attack destructive cells in the body. Working with Vitamin E, it gathers free radicals--cells which, having one unpaired electron, “steal” electrons from nearby cells in order to stabilize themselves. Symptoms of selenosis include arthritis, gastro-intestinal upsets, and hair loss, white blotchy nails, garlicky breath odor and fatigue. It may also result in dermatitis, irritability, and mild nerve damage. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
