Need A Day Away From the Kids? Here is a Great Idea.
Never been to a spa? Do you want to know what to expect? Do you want to know what it is all about? In this day and age when Day Spas are cropping up all over the country, the average person really does not know what it is all about. It is important that if you are going to go to a Day Spa that you know what is expected of you in order for you to have a great relaxing time.
As a guest at a spa it is important for you to arrive early for your appointment. This way, you are able to relax and prepare yourself for the activities that you have planned for the day. Most Day Spas generally require you to get completely undressed for your body services. You do not have to worry, the therapists are professionals and they will keep your body draped, exposing only the area that they are working on. However, keep in mind, if you have a body scrub, body wrap or any hydrotherapy, you will not be draped in order to allow your body to get maximum benefits. In some places, swimsuits are an option. You need to talk to the facility.
During the services, you need to make sure to provide adequate feedback to your therapist. This way, they know if you are comfortable or if anything is bothering you. Understand that this is a professional spa therapy business and do not expect anything but therapeutic or spa services.
It is important to make sure that you can relax completely. Let the spa professional pamper you. Keep in mind that while you are in the spa, there are also others that are there to relax too. No children should attend the spa unless they are getting a service. They should never be left unattended as this can be very disrupting to others. Make sure that you are aware of where the public places are and that you are respectful to others. After your session, make sure that you leave the treatment area within a reasonable amount of time as it will need to be prepared for the next client.
It is common practice in spas to make sure to tip the therapists. A good rule of thumb is to tip 15% of the total cost of the services. This is usually about 10 to 15 dollars per hour treatment. There is usually a tip envelope at the front desk for you to leave a tip. You do not have to worry about carrying around money while you enjoy your services. Make sure to check to see if you spa includes the tip in the cost of the price.
Remember that you are there to enjoy and relax. You need to remember that any unacceptable behavior will be frowned upon and could possible get you removed from the premises. You need to make sure that you come in when you have an appointment, that you are in full stock of you body and mind, and that you do not exhibit any lewd, demeaning, or abusive behavior towards any employee or customer. If problems do arise, make sure to address it with the manager or owner of the spa in a respectful and agreeable way.
