What is a biological demand of food?
The latter depends upon several factors. One of the most important is the eating habits inculcated from childhood.
It is understood that an infant is born with a set of metabolic activities which is appropriate to his biological demand of food, water and air. The infant would break into cries when he feels the hunger pang. That is around when his hunger or thirst must be addressed.
The biological demand of food in his case comes from the metabolic demand and the frequency at which the demand arises would set his biological clock.
An infant always tends to under eat. Try to overfeed and he will first resist to his best, else will throw up.
They say an infant is a master of his own will. The will starts getting suppressed or influenced by the parents and others as the child grows up. Sadly enough, the child loses his freedom to choose how much and when to eat. Of course the parents must be cautious in choosing what they should feed.
The latter has be a very informed and a responsible choice. For this will set the nature of food the child will grow accustomed to.
Never prefer an unnatural flavor or taste over the natural in choosing food for the infant. Children brought up over biscuits tend to eat far lesser cereals in their simply-cooked state. They must always invariably must have high-salt or high-sugar fortified cereals, which means biscuits, cakes and cookies. Healthy wheat or corn porridge tend to get sidelined from the main diet of such children.
Similarly high-fat diet which is normally forced upon the children from their very childhood becomes a norm rather than an exception. And the result being that irresponsible eating leading to obese or sick adults fighting to get back to their shape which is quite difficult.
