Having a high blood pressure puts you at great risk to develop heart diseases or even to have a heart-attack. Unfortunately high blood pressure affects millions of people and the number of patients keeps increasing. It does not have any specific symptoms, so many aren't aware that they have it, but it can be easily discovered during a routine medical control. There are many types of medications that can lower the blood pressure. The most effective ones are diuretics, that help the body get rid of the sodium excess, beta blockers, that can reduce the rate at which the heart is beating, and ACE inhibitors, that prevent the arteries from getting narrower which increases the pressure of the blood. You need to ask your doctor what is the best medication in your case, and eventually go through some clinical trials to determine the amounts of drugs that will be prescribed to you.

But if you only take drugs you won't lower your blood pressure too quickly. You also need to change your lifestyle and your diet.
You must reduce the stress levels and start to exercise daily. 30 minutes of exercise each day will significantly lower your blood pressure and increase the overall quality of your health. If you are overweight exercising and losing weight is a must-do.

The diet changes must be made so that you:

-reduce the quantity of sodium from your meals. Sodium can raise your blood pressure if you consume more than the body needs, and it's easy to do that because salt contains a lot of sodium, and many foods are rich in sodium too. You need to use as little salt as you can

-reduce the quantity of fat substances that you eat. Consuming a lot of fats leads to weight gain which in turn leads to high blood pressure

-eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can. Doing this will help the body lower the blood pressure and will also strengthen the immune system.

After you start doing all these things you need to keep an eye on how your blood pressure is progressing. You need to measure it a few times a day, and you can do this with the help of a blood pressure monitor. The doctor will look at the values and guide you through the treatment.

Combining physical exercise with a healthy diet and with some drugs will help you lower your blood pressure very quickly and will have a beneficial effect on your health condition
