Internet Marketing Success: Overcoming The Biggest Obstacle
The biggest obstacle that people run into and have a hard time overcoming is really themselves. No really. Most people donít really fail at internet marketing, they give up too soon. Iíve been in internet marketing for several years now and I love it. However I didnít always love it. When I first started (hadnít made any money yet) it seemed like I kept running into one roadblock after another. Iíll admit that I was guilty of the get rich quick daydreaming of how much money was waiting to be made with almost no effort. I quickly realized that there was a lot of effort necessary if I was going to make money on the internet.
Have you ever gone over to the overture suggestion tool and typed in phrases like, ďmake money on the internetĒ or ďinternet businessĒ. There are many more phrases that you could look up. You would find that there are literally millions of searches every month from people looking for information on how to make a living on the internet. In comparison to those millions, very few succeed. When it comes down to it most people donít think they have what it takes. No really. They search for info but when it comes time for the rubber to meet the road they find that they donít have any confidence.
Here's how the typical scenario plays out when someone ends up not making money online. The scenario often starts when they see some infomercial on late night TV talking about how easy it is to become a millionaire at internet marketing. So maybe they buy the info product from the infomercial or maybe not. Sooner or later in their search for more information on how they can make money from the internet they probably end up buying some type of how to product that promises online success in just weeks. For some reason so many people buy these types of products thinking that the money is going to just start pouring in with little or no effort. Sooner or later reality sets in and when the rubber meets the road they realize that there's some real work needed to succeed online. It's not hard work and there's not much cost involved. They're simple things like doing some Pay-Per-Click advertising, building an email list and emailing them a couple times per month, getting some backlinks so your site comes up in the search engines etc.
Why are these things so difficult for some people? I'm convinced that people don't want to do these things because they're afraid of them not working out. They're afraid that they might put their time and money into these things and it might all turn out to be a waste. I'll admit that I've been there. The only way to overcome these fears is to do what needs to be done anyway. And you know what if they don't work out then at least you can say you gave it your best shot. Most people never try those things anyway and they give up and say something like, "it's just not for me", when they never really gave it a shot.
If you're thinking about trying your hand at online marketing or you already are and you're frustrated I encourage you not to give up. Go out and do some basics like the things I mentioned above. I bet you'll see some results. And when you see some results then you know what works and then you can refine some stuff or try new things. Don't quit before you ever really try.
