Gaming Mouse Pads
Hardcore PC gamers think a lot about gaming mice, and for good reason. Gaming mice average a street price of and feature high-tech laser tracking engines with amazing automatic dpi adjustments. They work great on many surfaces and provide the accuracy needed for newer PC games. What many PC gamers donít realize is the importance of the mouse pad. The cheap and weak foam mouse pads you find on the street are not ideal for the intensity of PC gaming. In fact, the mouse pad you use should be just as important as the mouse you use.
Mouse pads for gamers come in lots of different shapes and sizes. They all have different textures and work better on certain types of mice. Youíll find plenty of companies marketing gamers mouse pads, so there are lots of options to choose from.
What you will find with testing is that all mouse pads will improve your mousing performance and your reflexes. Most importantly, they all perform better than cheap mouse pads. You will find, however, that different mouse pads work better for different games, so the double-sided feature of many new mouse pads are well worth the extra cost.
One of our personal favorite mouse pads is called Zero. Itís made of acrylic and has an unbelievably cool design. It too, has two surfaces: one dubbed Zero and the other SubZero. One side is for speed while the other is better for those tough moments where accuracy matters most.
Apart from its unique shape, what we like most about Zero is its ability to be placed in your lap. Comfort is important during gaming, and being able to sit back and relax in a chair with your mouse pad in hand makes all the difference.
Another personal favorite is called the Super Mouse Mat. While it appears to be nothing more than an oversized mouse pad, it is actually the preferred choice of Fatality. With a 17.5Ē x 13.5Ē surface, there is plenty of room for mousing. You simply canít go wrong with the Super Mouse Mat, especially if youíre on a budget.
The best advice you can get is to see what works best for you. Different people prefer different textures, shapes, and sizes. Different games work better with different mouse pads. One thing is for sure, something exists that will work for you.
