Refillable Toner Cartridges – A money saver?
More and more people are using refillable printer and copying cartridges as not only a way of saving money, but also in helping to reduce the effects that landfill sites have on the environment. However, after carrying out some research there is much you can find out about refilling cartridges from various sites on the internet with instructions and ways in which to order these products.
One site had made the analogy that “throwing out an empty cartridge is like throwing out a tyre that needs more air” and thinking about it in this way makes more sense. For several years people have only seen buying new cartridges as their best option, but are now discovering there are other possibilities out there. The best thing about the refillable option is that it is a win win situation all round, not only are you saving money, but you are also helping to protect the environment.
The process for choosing a refillable cartridge is very simple, firstly find one that is compatible with your printer or copier and then next order the ink for refilling it. All you then need to do is follow the instructions (carefully) for refilling the cartridge and commence printing.
After carrying out some research you will soon find that there are sites around which not only offer refill kits and cartridges but also offer recycled cartridges as well. Such sites that offer recycled cartridges will often describe the potential dangers you are possibly facing when refilling your own cartridges from the mess caused by the ink to the print head of your machine being ruined because of the wrong kind of ink being used. Unfortunately the same kind of ink is not compatible from every cartridge that is around, and each kind of ink has a different drying time, filtration level, pigments, shades and viscosity levels so finding the right one for your machine can be quite challenging.
Such sites will usually explain the processes they use for cleaning, inspecting, reloading and testing the used cartridges and when looking at buying recycled cartridges it is a good idea to compare each manufacturers processes that they use.
So you may find that after carrying out research regarding refillable and recycled cartridges that the recycled ones are the better option for you. Certainly you don not have to waste time and effort in refilling the cartridge and also it has the added benefit of you knowing that the ink used in the cartridge is the right kind and that your printer head will not get damaged or ruined.
As for savings well the savings offered by both refillable or recycled cartridges can be anything from 50-60% against the cost of purchasing new. But best of all it is wise to remember that not only will you be saving your self money but also you are doing your bit to help the environment by purchasing either refillable or recycled cartridges in the future.
