Powerful Strategy of Using Audio and Visual on Your Website
Most people spend so much time on their ad copy that they forget to connect with their customer. They are busy making sure they have a powerful headline with a sub headline with an interesting letter with bullet points and bonuses. It can be so incredibly easy to get so caught up in the details of copywriting that you essentially forget to connect with your prospect.
People need to know that you are a real person. Good copywriting will allow the reader to hear your voice indirectly, but there is nothing more powerful than a message directly from you, the author, allowing them to hear what you have to say with your real vocal cords! People can relate to another real person much better than to another perfect webpage. There are two ways to connect with your customer like never before.
#1 Audio
First there is a vocal message. This is the most cost effective way and simple to connect with the traffic you carefully funneled to your site. The program is called Instant Audio that allows you to create as many messages as you want either by calling the company and recording your message over the phone or by just plugging in a small microphone and talking right into the program. This program is extremely basic. After you have finished recording they give you some html code that you just insert on your website wherever you want.
This way people have the option to hear from the author. Personally, I have noticed most people stay longer on my site after adding this feature. While they listen to my 30 second message they start browsing the site, and hopefully get hooked. People would much rather get a quick feel for the site without having to read as crazy as that may sound.
I actually did a whole website to try out the theory that voice helps sell product. I set up a webpage that had limited web copy, so much so, there was hardly any need to scroll down the page, you could almost see the whole thing on one screen. Then I recorded me selling my product in about a one minute sales pitch and had it automatically play as soon as someone landed on my site. I was shocked by the results. I sold more on that site than on a similar site with a long sales letter and no voice. Now, most of my sites combine the both the sales letter and the voice and I have had the best results yet.
#2 Visual
The second relational method is to ad visual. You could ad a short video of yourself or use a promotional tool such as Live Face On Web , either way people are drawn into your site and feel like they are relating to a real face of the website. With today’s technology there is absolutely no reason to not relate to your customer and allow them to know that you are real. With the popularity of youtube.com and TV in general, it is obvious that people enjoy watching over reading.
My personal recommendation is to keep the sales letter that you worked so hard on, but ad something original that will set you apart like audio or visual. Not many websites have gone this route yet, but I believe this is the direction websites are heading.
