Here is a fact regarding summer diets - most of them are destined to fail. What is the reason behind this unfortunate trend? Simply put, people have such unrealistic expectations that they become discouraged long before they meet their goals.
Think about all of the times you have said “I am going to lose 25 pounds this month!” or “I will fit into a size 6 by the end of summer!” While these statements are usually made with good intentions, they can also sabotage your weight loss efforts. Instead of focusing on the task at hand, you are constantly worried about the scale. However, it is possible to achieve success if you take a sensible approach to summer diets.
Honesty is the best weight loss policy
First and foremost, you have to be willing to be honest with yourself. Sure, you might be eating foods that are low in fat; but are you putting in the extra effort when it comes to exercise? There are so many people that eat low fat summer recipes and think that their job is done. These are the same people who can’t understand why they are only losing a minimal amount of weight. While eating right is a big part of the equation, the desired results can only be achieved by adding a regular exercise routine. Schedule a minimum of 30 minutes each day for exercise, and don’t make excuses!

It seems like every other day there is a new and exciting diet fad being introduced. Don’t fall for it! The only true path to healthy weight loss starts and ends with a balanced diet and plenty of exercise. There is no magic pill, drink, or gadget that can build a bathing-suit body.
