The Body For Life Diet
The Body for Life diet was created by the same people who founded EAS, a company devoted to bodybuilding and nutrional supplements. The Body for Life diet is an intense 12 week long diet plan. The Body for Life diet targets protein and carbs as the source of about half the calories you consume. This is intended to help eliminate fats from your diet.
One of the primary differences when comparing the Body for Life diet with the rest of the dieting schemes is the fact that the Body for Life diet does not restrict food and calorie intake as much as the others. The Body for Life diet actually requires it's participants to eat 6 small meals every day with only a few hours between the meals. Lean cuts of beef, chicken, pork or fish, should be your main source of protein with each serving about the size of your palm. Your carbohydrates should come from foods such as potatoes, brown rice, and fruit with servings no bigger than the size of your fist. The Body for Life diet recommends starting each day with a breakfast rich in carbohydrates to give you that early boost.
Eating smaller meals throughout the day helps keep the blood glucose levels stable and at a balance for the entirety of the day. Often what happens when you eat a large meal is your blood glucose level skyrockets for that short period of time, only to have it drop before you are able to consume your next meal; this can permanently disrupt a person's metabolism over time. Another unwanted result from the '3 square meals a day' tradition is that your body may feel the need to store the food as oppose to burning it off because of the waiting period between meals; this leads to a slowed metabolism and fat storage. Eating the small meals every few hours required by the Body for Life diet will help your body to realize that it no longer needs to store the food as it will be replenished shortly; this results in a quicker metabolism as well as more energy throughout the day.
The exercise regime of the Body for Life diet requires 3 days of 45 minute weight training sessions and 3 days of 20 minute cardio courses. This gives the participant of the Body for Life diet the 7th day to rest up as well as eat whatever they may fancy. If you have tried the other dieting plans and get turned away by lack of results you should definitely give the Body for Life diet a shot.
