Increase Your Fan Base!
Every single performing artist out there knows that they would be no where without their fans. Who would by the CDs, DVDs, t-shirts, stickers, hats and other items if there were no fans? No one, that is just it, you would be broke whether you promote your CD or not.
Fans come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, wallet sizes and let’s face it, levels of mental stability. You have your crazy fans, your diehard fans, your bandwagon fans and your future fans. Never under-appreciate your current fans but you constantly need to work on acquiring those future fans. Fans will give you music promotional ideas and help you promote your CD for free! They are the best musician resource out there.
You have to build a substantial fan base before you even think about doing anything else to promote your CD. Booking gigs and interacting with the audience is one sure fire way to do this. Getting a website and building an email list will achieve this as well. This way, you can create a weekly or monthly newsletter about your upcoming events and shows. Keep your fans informed and excited about your music!
The best music promotional ideas will stem from your hometown. So, start building your fan base in your hometown. These are the people that will identify with you and where you come from. Start with immediate friends and family and move up from there. Network and have your friends network for you. Get as many people to your shows as possible
A great fan base is not only a great musician resource but a prized possession. Don’t try to pick and choose your fans. If your music is loved by high school and middle school students or whoever, then go with it. There is a target market that you need to identify and once you do you will be one step ahead of the game. Accept and love the fans that you have and they will love you.
The lesson learned here is that your fan base may be all you have in the beginning. They will help promote your CD, they will offer music promotional ideas and most importantly, they will be the best musician resource around. Never take your fans for granted and always remember where you came from and you should be a fantastic success in the music industry.
