CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT
I recently launched several new sites none of which has been ranked by Google as of this writing. However, based upon targeted keywords the customers are recieving very good search results landing in #1 through #5 spots on all three major search engine result pages, including Google, which has yet to rank those new sites.
The reason all three major search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN) are showing those websites on top of all three major search result screens is because the trick to optimization is focusing on quality content rather than fixating on search engine results.
The spider bots access a website and see the raw text statements and determine the quality of the content above all else. When your webmaster writes code or script he/she must always focus on pleasing the consumer entering your site and to a much lesser degree be concerned with how the spider bot will read your content.
For example, one of my customers insisted on asking me to produce a website geared towards rank and I refused, rather, included quality content based upon the products and services that customer sold online. The customer rejected my presentation and hired another website designer and ended up with what I refer to as a "rank-site" paying very little attention to what the consumer needs to know, a site containing far too many redundant inclusions of keywords repeated over and over again ad nauseum to attract ranking.
After several and many months that same customer above came out with a flash website version and hidden behind the large flash viewer code was the repeat rank keyword text statement that viewers would never see but seen and read by spiders. Ultimately the customer called me back and sought to re-establish relations after learning Google had banned the site due to the use of hidden text and other disingenous tactics too many to mention.
The key to great rank is quality content and the approach I use which is to sense the existence of a long-term relation based upon respect for viewers, giving viewers pertinent and relevant quality content information about products and services and to a lesser degree making spider bots happy.
