If someone was to ask me of my favorite experience while outdoors, I would immediately respond “motor home camping!” As a child, my parents were determined to help me experience the most out of my summer vacations and still spend enough time with them. Thus, instead of giving their consent for me to join a summer camp, since they were both working individuals and time was back then a luxury, they decided to purchase a motor home vehicle, which actually allowed us to spend more of our summer vacations together. By the time I was fourteen, I had been given the opportunity to live in our motor home and visit a million different places to experience the unexpected. I remember now that when early in fall I returned back to school, I was one of the few students delighted to write the first essay of the semester, titled “How did you spend your summer vacations?” I was extremely eloquent in describing my motor home camping adventures leaving most of my classmates pleasantly surprised.

In fact, one third of the US adults happily admit that they have gone on a camping vacation in the last five years, making it the number one outdoor activity. Owning a motor home vehicle and camping outdoors is actually a great hobby for families to experience together. But motor home camping in particular, offers to families the conveniences of a real house as well as the opportunity for parents to teach their children that fun and adventure are not things one should pay a high price to experience. Especially nowadays, when parents are seeking for an instructive, yet affordable way of instructing their kids those simpler things in life, motor home vehicle camping can be a great outdoor activity for families to explore.

Many support that motor home camping provides a sense of success and accomplishment as it lets people experience the outdoors from a totally different perspective. But before embarking, you must remember to follow some basic rules. First, how many people can fit in your motor home vehicle. It would be really frustrating having to deal with the fact that one has to sleep in the driver’s seat because you miscalculated your sleeping arrangement. Second, you should check whether or not motor home vehicles are allowed where you are going. If you are planning to visit a specific area, call the local authorities and find out if and where you are permitted to park, since some places do not allow campers to stay overnight, in fear of fires or other camping accidents. Third, you should make a list of the things you will need apart from your precious motor home vehicle. Flashlights, beddings, water and food supplies, cooking and eating utensils, handbags, and of course a map, are some of the things you should plan to take along. Motor home vacations are a great time for you and your family or friends to relax and bond with each other. Make sure you are familiar with the basics and don’t let simple things, like the weather for example, get in your way. Check your list, do your shopping beforehand and then hit that gas pedal.
