Falcons Coach Jim Mora Is No Leader!
December 15, 2006 (Atlanta, GA) - The NFL brings us a prime time Saturday night tilt in Atlanta when the Falcons host the rebounding Dallas Cowboys in a game with huge playoff implications. Huge games mean Betting action on both teams and this means the largest online sportsbook and casino Sportsbook.com will be front and center.
The Atlanta Falcons have had a very unsettling year with the plethora of injuries on the defensive side of the ball, terrible pass receiving by the receivers and an inconsistent running game. Now the man, who is supposed to be the steadying influence and the caption of the ship, is looking to bail overboard.
Mora announced in an interview yesterday that he has his eyes on his former University of Washington Huskies coaching job. He stated quite emphatically that if Ty Whillingham loses his job, or leaves to coach elsewhere, that he will be the first in line with his resume and adios Atlanta.
Any coach or professional for that matter, that is under contract to an employer and is right in the midst of the most important part of the year, should have the class to keep his comments to himself. The Falcons are a fragile group and what they need now is a strong focused leader, who gives them a sense of confidence. The Cowboys are looking to rebound from the shellacking they received at the hands of the Saints and will be playing with a sense of urgency.
The point spread on this game open at Dallas -3 and has nosed itself up to -3.5 at Sportsbook.com, while the over/under total has gone from 43 to 44.5. Both teams have been nice to their backers as the Cowboys are 7-5-1 against the spread, while Atlanta is 7-6.
Atlanta has all kinds of injury issues at running back with starter Warrick Dunn, not expected to go, while backup rookie Jerious Norwood is ailing as well.
For those folks that are considering backing the Falcons, the unsteady play of Tony Romo last week, has shown that the Cowboys are far from being the dominant team in the NFC.
If the Cowboys had difficulty keeping Reggie Bush in check, what are they going to do with the mobile Michael Vick?
