December 7, 2006 (Phoenix, AZ) - The Seattle Seahawks must be rubbing their hands in glee as they head to the warm and friendly confines of Glendale, Arizona and a date with the Phoenix Cardinals. Two weeks ago the city of Seattle, Washington experienced a winter wonderland, complete with snow and cold weather as the Seahawks played the Packers.

Last Sunday, Mike Holmgren's team had to trek to the Rocky Mountain High state of Colorado and play in freezing weather against the Broncos and their offense was as cold as the weather. In its 23-20 win over Denver last week, Seattle had just two first downs and 67 total yards at halftime. The Seahawks went three-and-out six times in their first eight possessions and 3-for-16 on third-down conversions. Seattle benefited from five Broncos turnovers, including two interceptions from rookie Jay Cutler in his debut -- one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Matt Hasselbeck is trying to regain his form after being sidelined with a foot injury and he could get well at Arizona where the Seahawks have been money in the bank. Seattle has won four straight over Arizona, including a 21-10 victory in Week 2 when it gained 341 yards. The Seahawks have totaled more than 300 yards only five other times this season after surpassing the 300-yard mark in 13 games last season with the top offense in the NFC.

How about the fact that Arizona has not won consecutive games since November 7th and November 14th 2004? The Cardinals stunned St. Louis on the road last week and Edgerrin James finally exceeded 100 yards in rushing and pivot Matt Leinart is beginning to look comfortable behind center.

Since Arizona joined the NFC West in the division's realignment in 2002, the Seahawks have won seven of nine over the Cardinals. Seattle has 18 rushing touchdowns in those nine match-ups, compared to just two by Arizona.

The Cardinals are allowing the sixth-most points in the league (23.7 points per game), and the fourth-most yards (371.3). In their last seven losses to Seattle, they gave up an average of 29.7 points and 361.1 yards.

Alexander rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals earlier this season, and has 556 yards and 10 TDs during the four-game win streak over Arizona.
