NBA Coach Jerry Sloan Wins Game Number 1,000! The 64 year-old and two-time NBA All Star, when he was a player, started his coaching career back in 1979 with the Chicago Bulls and has already completed 18 seasons. Jerry Sloan has been with the Utah Jazz since the 1988 season. Since the start of his long and fulfilled profession he has done nothing but achieve great triumphs; there is a long list of accomplishments acquired which accompany his forty-year career. Few of his many attainments include having the 11th best winning percentage in the History of NBA, 5 Midwest Division Titles. He was NBA Head Coach of the Year for the 2003-04 season and he is one of only two coaches to have 10 straight winning seasons with the same team. These are only some examples from his successful career as coach and player. Last night he was cheered by the crowd and even received a standing ovation. Although not many get as far as he has, Sloan seemed to be very calm and was happier about winning the game than his own personal achievement. This could one of the reasons many people respect him as a professional and as a person.
