Sportsbook.com Revs Up For NCAA Hoops Action!
This is a fantastic time of year for Sports fans as the NFL is in full swing, the NBA has entered its second week, NCAA gridiron action is heating up and the war on ice in the NHL is alive and kicking.
Now it is time for NCAA Hoops to enter the fray and this will lead us into March Madness hysteria is the early part of 2007. When Americans look to wager on College Basketball they will head to the finest online sportsbook on the continent and that is www.sportsbook.com.
As expected Billy Donovan's defending champion Florida Gators have been anointed the pre season number one ranking in the country. Joakim Noah, the Final Four's most outstanding player, leads the way, joined by forwards Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Chris Richard and guards Taurean Green and Lee Humphrey. They begin their quest on November 10th against Samford.
North Carolina is a year older after surprising the nation with a 23-8 mark last year. Tar Heels have plenty of talent, including Tyler Hansbrough, Reyshawn Terry, Bobby Frasor, Wes Miller, and wing Marcus Ginyard to go with highly touted recruiting class led by Ty Lawson.
The top Big 12 team looks to be the Kansas Jayhawks. Virtually every key contributor is back, including Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers, and Russell Robinson. Also, forwards Julian Wright and Darnell Jackson. Freshman Darrell Arthur and Sherron Collins figure to help out.
Just like in Football the Ohio State Buckeyes look to be the class of the Big Ten. Outstanding recruiting class, led by 7-1 Greg Oden and Mike Conley will join returning Jamar Butler, although Oden's recovery from wrist surgery will delay his debut.
The Big East will strut their stuff in the form of the Pittsburgh Panthers who are loaded, coming off a 25-8 campaign in 2005-06. Experienced Panthers again look like one of Big East's best behind Levance Fields, Antonio Graves, Ronald Ramon, Aaron Gray, and forwards Levon Kendall and Sam Young.
Out west in the PAC Ten UCLA has significant losses from their 32-7 team with Bozeman, Farmar and Hollins departing but they return a solid core, including Luc Richard and wing Josh Shipp, who missed most of last season after hip surgery. Watch for Darren Collison to contribute.
Remember the high flying LSU Tigers from the dance last year, well they could be loaded again. Although they lost Tyrus Thomas and Darrel Mitchell, eyeing another Final Four run are Glen Davis, Tasmin Mitchell, Darnell Lazare, and Magnum Rolle, who missed most of last season with knee injury.
Ranked number eight by the coaches is the Georgetown Hoyas and they have an incredible talent in center Roy Hibbert. They open this Saturday against Hartford.
As we mentioned earlier, Ohio State like their Football brothers are the cream of the crop in the Big Ten, but lurking close at hand is underrated Wisconsin. Alando Tucker is back to lead what could be Badgers' best team in years. Kammron Taylor and emerging Brian Butch also return, bolstering chances at Big Ten honors.
Rounding out the Top Ten is the Arizona Wildcats who were a disappointing 20-13 last year, but should be better behind Mustafa Shakur and Jawan McClellan, who had off-season knee surgery.
