2006 Super Bowl Teams Are Jinxed?
At some point Ben Roethlisberger must quietly whisper to the man upstairs, that he would gladly give up his Super Bowl ring, if he could erase the events that have occurred in the year 2006.
Beginning with the famous motorcycle accident on June 12th, his emergency appendectomy in early September, and now his second concussion in 4 months, the QB must be wondering where it all went wrong.
As for his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, they are in a heap of trouble as their record sits at 2-4 a full two games back of Cincinnati and Baltimore.
Consider the fact that Bill Cowher's squad the Steelers already have four losses -- or only two fewer than they had in 2005 (11-5) and 2004 (15-1) combined. And after going 4-0 away from Pittsburgh in the postseason while winning the Super Bowl, they are 0-3 on the road this season.
They now venture to the 'Black Hole' home of the fearless Raiders, winner of their first game last week and America's favorite sportsbook, www.sportsbook.com, has the black and gold installed as -9 point favorites.
Meanwhile in Starbucks Country, the Seattle Seahawks are in a heap of trouble with Matt Hasselbeck going down and Shaun Alexander iffy on a gimpy wheel. They now turn to Seneca Wallace and he must make his first start in the burial grounds known as Arrowhead Stadium.
It's almost impossible to hear on Sundays at that complex and the linemakers love the Chiefs as they are offering Seahawk bettors +5.5 points. Seattle's offensive line is getting old real fast and Super Bowl runner-ups, very rarely have good years after getting so close.
