Online Sportsbooks Should Offer Lines On Who Gets In Trouble Next!
While I certainly don’t want to downplay the severity of the incidents involving Charger linebacker Steve Foley and Bengal linebacker Odell Thurman, the reports of the apparent attempted suicide of TO is really the final straw.
Millions of other sports fans are usually busy every Wednesday trying to earn a buck and spending our spare time scanning the odds for the upcoming slate of football games. This morning while visiting my favorite sportsbook I also had my computer tuned to ESPN radio when the report of Terrell Owens’ eventful began to surface.
What was first reported as an allergic reaction to a pain killer later got upgraded to an attempted suicide of anti-depressants. Forget the line on the upcoming Eagles-Cowboys game, what odds are available on whether Owens will play another game in a Cowboy uniform? How about whether he will play another game in the NFL?
Maybe the proposition odds should be offered on which team will have the first player arrested early Monday morning after this weekend’s games. Will it be for drunken driving or a drug charge?
I must say you must admire not only the play of the Cincinnati Bengals, but in the way they train their rookies to make wise decisions. It seems that former Texas A & M quarterback and now wide receiver Reggie McNeal decided to head out for a few drinks after the win over the Steelers last week.
He then enlisted the help of two very fine role models teammates Chris Henry and Mr. Thurman. McNeal made a very good decision in not to drive home however, he turned over his rod to Thurman. It’s reported that a police officer pulled over a weaving car and charged Thurman with drunk driving and driving with a suspended license. In the back seat was the owner of the vehicle McNeal and his buddy Henry, who has only been arrested 4 times himself.
Now reports have surfaced that San Diego starting safety Terrance Kiel was arrested Tuesday for investigation of drug-related offenses according to ESPN.com.
Kiel was booked and released after posting 0,000 bond, the Web site reported Tuesday night, citing sources it did not name. He was arrested for investigation of possession, possession for sale, and transportation of a controlled substance, ESPN.com said.
It was the fourth run-in with the law by a Chargers player since April. Outside linebacker Steve Foley was shot outside his suburban home by an off-duty Coronado police officer on Sept. 3. Foley will miss the entire season and forfeit at least 5,000 in pay.
Foley and linebacker Shaun Phillips were each arrested for scuffling with San Diego police officers a week apart in April. Neither was charged.
The ironic part is that both the Bengals and Chargers are undefeated. As for TO, the juries been out on this guy for a long time!
