Tiger Woods got his 50th PGA Tour Title
The one and only Tiger Woods won his 50th PGA Tour title last Sunday in the Buick Open, shooting his fourth-straight 6-under 66 for a three-stroke victory over Jim Furyk who finished with a 64.
Tiger Woods accomplished a season-low 24 under and made a career-high 28 birdies in the tournament to hold off Furyk for his fourth win of the year. Woods earned 4,000 pushing his tour-leading total to ,127,563.
Woods achieved his most recent victory after an emotional triumph in the British Open and before he shoots for his 12th major at the PGA Championship, where he hopes to close in on the record he longs for: Nicklaus' 18 pro major championships.
Tiger Woods, at the age of 30 years old, is the youngest golfer to accomplish 50 PGA Tour Victories after beating an old record established by Nicklaus in 1973 at the age of 33. Woods has made 196 PGA Tour starts as a pro and 210 overall. Nicklaus won his 50th title in his 280th start overall and 262nd as a professional.

Furyk briefly tied Woods at the 12th hole, but Tiger approached from 105 yards landing close enough for a tap-in birdie at the 13th. This birdie allowed Woods to take a two-shot lead at the 15th hole leaving Furyk behind and practically assuring Woods the victory of the Buick Open for the second time.
Vijay Singh had won the last two Buick Opens. This tournament’s victory would have been his third straight and four overall but instead he closed with a 70 to tie for 11th at 17 under.
