Planetariums for Date Night
Planetariums for Date Night
What's more romantic than cuddling up to your love while gazing up at a star-filled night sky? Nothing, that's what. There's just something magical about staring out into the open universe with someone that you hold dear. Could it be the infinite questions that arise when you realize how big it really is out there? Or the infinite answers? Maybe it gives us the sense of inferiority and vulnerability that we need to truly appreciate what we have. Whatever it is, star-gazing with your love is simply romantic.
Unfortunately, the night sky isn't always available for our viewing pleasure. And, in some bigger cities the amount of stars that are visible when night arrives are minimized thanks to all the city lights that pollute the sky. The weather can also play a factor when making plans with your love to scan the universe; not very romantic when your too cold to feel each other's hands, or when raindrops attack your face when you try to look up.
This is where Planetariums earn their label as a romantic date destination for you and your love. The sky is always clear inside a planetarium and the temperature just right. There is no time or spot on Earth that you will find such an abundance of stars as you would inside a planetarium. Aside from the plentiful collection of stars you will also get to see numerous comets or 'falling stars' which add even more to the romantic aura. Planetariums are also built to duplicate positioning and simulate movements of the sky. So, maybe the night sky is always available for our viewing pleasure after all.
If you're lucky, your planetarium will be just a section of a larger science museum so you can take some time to browse around and check out the always fascinating world of science. And, since this will usually be an afternoon date, you can make use of the sunlight and have a romantic picnic at a nearby park before you head off into the planetarium.
A great website to find a planetarium near you is www.lochness.com. Planetarium Date at Home
If there isn't a planetarium conveniently located near you don't fret as there is an option available for you. This option of a planetarium date at home is also great for those who prefer to stay in at the comfort of their own home. There are home planetarium sets out there that can help your own living room into a sky theatre. The Discovery Channel Store has a few different sets available. With a little searching and researching you can find one that suits your needs and budget.
If you do make use of this date option, you can lay out a blanket and some pillows on the ground and maybe even some candles for atmosphere; very romantic.
