VOIP and Fixed to Mobile Convergence for Small Business
At the moment, small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) have perhaps the most to gain from the explosion of new services. In one move, businesses can outsource their communications, doing away with clunky, on-site PBX equipment and leveraging VOIP to reduce their monthly phone bills. Some of the new SMB VOIP services also offer new tools like "unified messaging" (converged voicemail and email) that can actually improve productivity. New companies have been hurrying to deliver converged voice and data services to SMBs over the past year – and for good reason. The SMB market as a whole continues to grow and play a greater role in the economy, many of these business are just now converting to VOIP services. The number of residential and SOHO VOIP subscribers worldwide is expected to nearly double by the end of this year to over 47 million, says a recent report. By most definitions, small businesses employ between two and 50 people, while medium-sized ones employ between 51 and 500. Market segments covered by C21 Communications, exclusive provider in the UK and Ireland of Topex IP gateways and fixed to mobile convergence portfolio, with a wide range of Least Cost Routing solutions. This family of self-install products enables end user organisations to bypass relatively expensive fixed (wireline) to mobile interconnects from its PABX extensions through the intelligent use of Least Cost Routing direct to mobile networks of choice. Suitable for both outbound and inbound calls for both voice and data. Even with the recent and likely future reductions in cross network call charges, payback is typically in the order of weeks for larger SMEs, for example. All combinations and permutations of customer premise equipment and mobile network services are supported, so it will be rare that a solution is not available for a particular customer. VoIP can be deployed for external calls so long as end-to-end service quality meets the organisation’s requirements.
