A few matters of finance
A short time back we asked members worldwide for ideas for a new members section.
The biggest interest was from people who it would seem have problems in getting mortgages and loans to allow them to buy property abroad.
It seems that getting a mortgage on a property in your own country is bad enough with vast options, rates and deals.
If you want a loan to enable you to move to another country, or buy a second home overseas, or as a buy to let investment the situation gets highly complex and confusing. Many buyers are entering new, uncharted territory and are both vulnerable and at risk.
Whilst UK residents are protected by the FSA http://www.fsa.gov.uk/consumer/ less legislation and protection exists in some areas of the world.
It seems to us there is a need for a global focal point for information on mortgage finance based on worldwide options and resources.
We have made an initial start in association with our sister site www.mobilenumbers.org we have jointly set up some web pages which attempt to explain some of the mystique behind mortgages.
This was announced to the Mobile Numbers UK register of members today, and is mainly concerned with new and first time UK buyers who comprise the main users of the Mobile Numbers database at http://www.mobilenumbers.org
If you need to expand on elements of the useful information there is access via a simple onscreen form to be put in touch with a qualified mortgage advisor who can give you more information and offer advice.
The service is entirely free of cost and without obligation.

We are seeking to expand the information pages and seek
a) more information and articles about the various aspects facing foreign buyers
b) brokers who offer mortgages who can be linked to the information
c) of special interest are brokers and related information web sites covering UK, EUROPE, AUSTRALIA, CANADA, NEW ZEALAND and USA.
d) details of appropriate mortgage and finance laws and controlling bodies (similar to the FSA in the UK) covering all parts of the world.
