How To Create Serendipity in Your Life
Serendipity is a lucky break. It's being in the right place at the right time. But is it really a matter of luck or can you produce serendipity in your own life. You can, and I'm going to show you how.
Let me give you an example of serendipity from my life.
One day, some years ago, my attorney invited me to a business breakfast talk being given by a prominent economist. At the breakfast I was sitting beside a man I had never met before. We got talking and that man came to one of my courses. He was so inspired by that course that he introduced me to a business friend of his and we ended up putting together a project that netted me 2,000 profit for a 3 month project.
What a stroke of luck for all those things to fall into place just from attending a simple business breakfast talk! Or was it luck? Let's take a closer look and see.
Why did my attorney invite me to the breakfast talk? The only reason he invited me, in fact the only reason I knew him at all, was that he had been creating certain business structures for me to help minimize the amount of tax I had to pay on my business profits.
In other words I received the invitation because I was already playing the business game.
Conclusion 1: To Attract Serendipity Get Into The Game.
Why did the man I was sitting next too become excited in our conversation and decide to attend one of my courses?
There were two reasons he became excited.
Firstly he could see that I was passionate about my purpose. When you are passionate then you excite passion in others.
Conclusion 2: To Attract Serendipity Live With Passion.
Secondly, he was also passionate about business and investing. Like all passionate people he was keen to learn more and based on my passionate explanation of the courses I run he decided it would be worth attending a course.
Conclusion 3: To Attract Serendipity Mix With Passionate People.
Why did he, after the course was over, introduce me to his business associate?
Because he could tell from the experience of the course that I really knew my stuff and he thought that there was an opportunity for us to all turn a tidy profit if we combined our forces.
Conclusion 4: To Attract Serendipity Take The Time To Learn Your Stuff Really Well.
Conclusion 5: To Attract Serendipity Be Open To Investigating Potential Win-Win Joint Ventures With Successful People.
Why did we each earn such profits in a short time?
- Because we worked well together for the common end.
- Because we each put in tremendous goal focused energy during that time.
- Because we all knew our stuff and were action-oriented not theory-oriented.
Conclusion 6: To Attract Serendipity Develop And Use Good People Skills.
Conclusion 7: To Attract Serendipity Develop The Habit Of Taking Massive Goal Focused Action.
I hope from this analyzed example you can see how serendipity is created. It is not a matter of luck it is a matter of developing the right habits.
