Five Dont's in New Love
It's been two weeks (a month?) the two of you have been seeing each other and things couldn't have been better. However, don't get complacent. There are some rules you need to set before you take your relationship to the next level.
Tell him when you don't like something!
He forgets to call, makes you wait 20 minutes, ends up talking on the phone when on a date with you.... And you forgive it all? Tighten the reins, girl, and give him a blasting once in a while. He has to respect your time and boundaries from the start. Reversing his taking you for granted (that's what it is) later on will be tough.
Stop being together 24/7!
Ouch, how do you guys stick together all the times? This is the surest way of getting sick of each other pretty quickly. If it's just you two, it also means either one of you or both are forgetting your friends - the surest way to zero social life. If not you, sooner or later he will have a problem with that. Give each other some breathing space and keep in touch with your friends!
You make some plans too!
A guy might like his woman to go along with his plans, but if you don't want to be labelled doormat and taken for granted, start taking a little initiative. Letting him make the plans always is not about pampering his ego - it's showing that you are spineless. What, he does not ask you when making plans? Refer to point 1.
Delay "Meet the Family" for a while!
Even if you are not contemplating marriage yet, social visits to yur family should be delayed for as long as possible. Many things could go wrong: he gets the wrong signal that you're trying to hook him, or thinks you're hurrying him or worse still, if you're not thinking serious, your parents start pressurising you to tie the knot!
Limit the I-love-yous' please!
No matter how many times you say it, no man will ever learn to say it often enough to please a woman (forget Gomez Addams!) The more you say it, the more he thinks you're not going anywhere and the more he won't say it (or not often enough!) The smart thing to do is to make him crave to hear it!
