What's New with General Motors?
In the auto industry the more visible you are the better. Enter GM India which has employed Bollywood duo Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan as ambassadors for the Chevrolet Aveo sedan and for the recently launched hatchback, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA.
Why this duo? “The Aveo carlines comprising of the Aveo sedan and the U-VA hatchback are new generation cars with class performance, looks, style, and mileage. Hence, we were looking at ambassadors who not only connect emotionally with the audience today but also embody the two dimensions of performance and aesthetics, substance, and style plus class and exuberance. We believe that the brand and the personalities have derived mutual benefit from the association in the past and hence we continue with their endorsement of the Chevrolet Aveo carlines, going forward,” as explained by General Motors India Vice President for Sales, Marketing and After Sales Ankush Aurora.
Plus, according to the research conducted by the automaker, the Hum Tum pair have effectively connected with the audience as they draw parallel with the brand by perfectly embodying the dimensions of performance and aesthetics, substance and style of the Aveo sedan and hatchback versions. The due were also successful in launching the Aveo sedan and U-VA hatchback through memorable television commercials which reflect energy, attitude, and enthusiasm.
General Motors India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation maker of the popular GM air filter. GM India also manufactures the Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet SRV, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, and the Chevrolet Tavera at its state of the art facility in Halol.
Cadillacs and Catwalks In other news: With the upcoming New York Fashion Week, General Motors will join the catwalk with its Cadillacs. Top New York fashion designer Dana Buchman was invited by GM’s Cadillac division to put her ideas into a special edition SRX.
The SRX is especially designed for women and to bring out the feminine allure of the vehicle, Buchman chose colors that are elegant, pretty and soft. She also made the interior stylish by outfitting it with luxurious quilted leather.
It should be noted that in the past the main focus of automakers in creating a vehicle was its engineering but that has changed. Today, along with car engineering a vehicle’s look and feel play an important role in car production. Automakers are now seriously looking at materials, fashion, finishes and stitching details to further enhance the aesthetic appeal of their vehicles.
