2007 Brisbane Motor Show to Open this February
Chevrolet, a subsidiary of General Motors will launch its Corvette Z06 at the Brisbane International Motor Show next month. The Z06 is hailed as the true American rival to the great sports cars of Europe. It is equipped with top-of-the-line GM accessories, a 7.0 liter V8 engine, special brakes and suspension, and capable of reaching a top speed of 316 km/h.
The Z06 is the high performance version of the Corvette C6. And just recently it has beaten all of its rivals when it was judged as the “Best Fast Car for 2006” by the British TV motoring program Fifth Gear. The Chevy Corvette Z06 was imported to Australia and was converted to right-hand drive and re-engineered for Australian Design Rule compliance by Sunshine Coast Company Corvette Queensland as preparation for the upcoming exhibit which will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on February 2 to 11, 2007.
Tickets for the said show will cost for adults plus a host of other ticket choices for families, concession holders and children. There would also be an advance show for those who want to take part of the private industry and media preview before the show is officially open for the public. For the said advance preview the price of the ticket is and available only to patrons over 16 years old. A free light cocktail style breakfast and refreshments will be served throughout the morning’s schedule of new model unveilings.
There will also be a free public transport to the motor show for those visitors with tickets purchased from any Queensland Rail City Train station. The Brisbane Motor Show will showcase a string of expensive sports cars which is expected to become the most exciting part of the show. Aside from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 show will also feature other remarkable sports cars such as Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Maserati GranSport and Bentley Continental GTC plus more which are to be announced during the show.
According to Motor Show Chairman Chris Beecham, “These rare and exotic sports cars are exactly what people expect to see at an international motor show and I’m certain that the Corvette will be a huge attraction for muscle car fans.” He also added, “It will be the first and probably the only occasion they will be assembled under one roof-they’re definitely not the kind of cars to be seen every day on the roads.”
To complement the worlds fastest sports cars, Brisbane Motor Show will also launch many new, less expensive models aimed at family motorists courtesy of various automakers such as BMW, Suzuki, Holden, Toyota, Audi, Sangyong, Renault, Proton, Saab, and Land Rover.
