The Volvo V70 also promises to be the most flexible vehicle in its class with much thanks to its 40/20/40 rear seat split configuration. The car is roomier than the previous Volvo V70 and it is evident in the 48mm increase in the legroom for rear seat passengers. The front seats are also improved shown by the driver seat now being electronically adjustable.
Other features include a sliding load floor which makes cargo loading convenient especially for loading heavy objects. A power tailgate is also optional; this tailgate can be closed easily by a push of a button. Its height is also adjustable to suit the height of the driver who is usually in charge of loading the cargoes. Buyers can also opt to go for the leather seats with heating and cooling features. For the optimum audio experience, a high-end digital audio system is also available which is MP3 compatible and has an output of a whooping 910 watts. The car can also come with laminated glass windows, depending on the customer’s choice.
The newest version of the Volvo V70 comes with a wide choice of powerplants. A 3.0 liter T6 six-cylinder engine comes with an all-wheel drive configuration. This souped up engine can produce as much as 285 horsepower and can power the vehicle up to speeds of 155 miles per hour and can accelerate the car from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 7.2 seconds. Another engine choice is the 3.2 liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine that packs 238 horsepower. A 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine is also among the choices and this powerplant can produce 200 horsepower. The latter will also be offered with the FlexiFuel technology which runs on E85. The cleaner engine will produce 145 horsepower. Diesel engines are also available - two of them to be precise and both with a displacement of 2.4 liters. Also, these two engines come with particulate filter for cleaner emissions.
Transmissions available are a six-speed manual gearbox for the 2.4D, D5 and the 2.5T engines, while for the rest, they are equipped with six-speed Geartronic auto/sequential-shift transmission.
