Mercedes-Benz Unveils Concept Ocean Drive at the 2007 NAIAS
At the North American Auto Show in Detroit, Mercedes-Benz, the maker of high quality Mercedes parts has once again showed why it is branded as a pioneer and design trendsetter among premium car makers when it unveils its Concept Ocean Drive, a four-door convertible.
The Ocean Drive concept was actually the result of Mercedes-Benz desire to revive the tradition of large luxury convertibles. The designers that worked on the Ocean Drive concept was given all the freedom by the automaker and such freedom was reflected when they have developed one of the world's most comfortable and elegant convertible--The Ocean Drive Concept.
The Concept Ocean Drive is like an inspiring jewel on wheels and belongs to a genre that may no longer be present from our roads but will forever live in the heart and minds of those who have lived to witness the glory of such era. And just like the luxury convertibles of the past, the Ocean Drive concept is a picture of elegance, sophistication and exclusiveness; in short, it exemplifies automobile culture at its highest form.
Mercedes Ocean Drive although reflects an elite and aristocratic flair but provides an invitation to venture on a topless cruise along the world's finest ocean promenades.
It should be noted that the last four door convertibles produced by Mercedes-Benz were built in 1962 and the creation of the Concept Ocean Drive is reliving the glorious 45 years of convertible tradition. The Ocean Drive concept was derived from the technical platform of the Mercedes-Benz S 600 which has a long wheelbase and twelve-cylinder engine. It has a body that is provided with an almost classical flavor reflected by the clearly defined lines and vibrant two tone paintwork.
The charm that the Ocean Drive concept exudes is more of the intellectual level. This car is equipped with the latest technical innovations which is not really surprising since Mercedes-Benz models has for years been known to be among the leading pioneers in the luxury class.
