GM redesigned Malibu
In Detroit: GM is cooking up lots of surprises for its customers beginning with the Malibu. Chevrolet’s Malibu gets a makeover based on GM’s global midsize platform which provides foundation for a strong body structure, precise build quality and refined driving dynamics. The redesigned Malibu is also three inches longer than the current model. It also has a six-inch longer wheelbase. The all new proportions of the Malibu provide it with a smoother and more direct driving experience. The redesigned Malibu is powered by a dual-overhead cam four-and-six-cylinder engines, including a 2.4L Ecotec DOHC four-cylinder engine and a 3.6L DOHC V-6 with variable valve timing. It also has a six-speed automatic transmission which is a standard with the V-6 and is offered with the 2.4L four-cylinder—considered to be a first in its segment.
Malibu’s all new strong structure also provides an exceptionally quiet environment. Its robust chassis minimizes vibration and noise while the body-structure make use of noise reducing materials such as liquid spray-on deadener, laminated steel and composite wheel liners—considered to be the segment’s quietest. The laminated “quiet glass” also provides for a more relaxing and serene environment.
All of the 2008 Malibu models are going to be equipped with OnStar Gen 7 which features standard automatic notification service, GPS navigation system and OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation.

The Geo Metro and Tracker were manufactured at the GM/Suzuki joint-venture CAMI assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. The Spectrum and Storm were entirely manufactured by Isuzu in Japan.
The Geo was formed by General Motors to compete in the growing market of small car imports way back in the year 1980s. Geo cars were continuously built through the 1997 model year and then later on some of the remaining models were made to join the Chevrolet lineup.
The fading interest of consumers on the economy compact market has resulted to the discontinuation of the GEO line of vehicles. To fill up the market left by Geo in Canada another import marque, the Asüna was introduced in the year 1993 to provide Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealers with a similar range of import vehicles. Although Geo vehicles have stopped production but GM has never stopped the production of
