Recalled: Mazda RX8 Sports Car
If you own a Mazda RX8 sports car, then you better go ahead and read this. You see, your car might be one of those Mazda RX8 units that the Mazda Motor Corporation is recalling.
Plans of recalling the mentioned sports car from the company had already leaked out in the auto industry. And according to the company, all these moves are due to the fact that they have found out some defects with the vehicles’ rotary engines. And just in case you did not know, the Mazda RX8 is much known for its share of rotary engines. Add up the best kind of Mazda accessories, and you get an exemplary vehicle all in all. Except for the engine problems, of course.
Anyhow, this is the main reason why the company has decided on recalling the mentioned vehicle model. But if you do own Mazda RX8 vehicles that were made before the year 2003, then you need not worry for only those Mazda RX8 units that were produced in 2004 and in 2005 are included. There would also be some Mazda RX8 units that were created in 2006 that would be included in the recall.
According to the company, those vehicles that are part of the recall would be undergoing engine checks. And if the company finds that the vehicles’ engines would not pass a specific vacuum test, the engine units would be replaced. Owners would not have to shell out any finances for that. The company would be doing that free of charge.
The recall was brought about after the company had found out that some Mazda RX8 vehicles had engines that were leaking oil. And in the process, the oil that leaked out was damaging the vehicle’s catalytic converters. Furthermore, there were already reports of technical problems with the mentioned sports car.
The Mazda RX8 is a sports car that has first appeared back in the year 2001 when it debuted at the North American International Auto Show. It took the place of the Mazda RX 7 and is also powered by the Wankel rotary engine. But production of this sports car actually started only in the year 2003.
