Recalled: More Than A Million Ford Vehicles
The Ford Motor Company is now ready for some great expenses. No, not to pay off dues and certainly not to invest on some new project. The auto maker from Dearborn would now be heading off towards recalling more than a million Ford vehicles.
If you have heard about those reports and claims about experiencing and seeing ‘Ford fires’, then you are now in the loop. This recall is being done by the company so as to fix and repair problems of that event that the public has dubbed as ‘Ford fires’. Ford vehicles have been claimed to start and catch fires which could be quite dangerous to the lives and the welfare of owners.
The company claims that they would now be recalling 1.2 million Ford trucks, vans, and sport utility vehicles. These would be because of the ‘Ford fires’ which have been pointed to start from those vehicles’ engines. As per Ford’s end, they have studied the matter and they have sent out a press release stating that those ‘Ford fires’ was connected to the vehicles’ speed control deactivation switch system. The company claims that this switch could actually corrode and thin out as time passes. And when it does, it could overheat and then ignite thus starting out engine fires.
The company would be continuously still be building Ford vehicles and Ford parts like Ford Focus parts that the auto market is clamoring for. However, along with that, the company would also be spending time on correcting this error in their vehicles. This recall has actually been called as one of the largest, if not the largest, recalls in the whole history of automobiles.
The vehicles that the Ford Motor Company is recalling include Ford F-250s, F350s, F-450s, and F-550 Super Duty vehicles which were manufactured from 1994 up until 2002. Aside from that, the recall also includes Ford Excursion vehicles manufactured from 2000 up to 2002, Ford Econoline vans that were created from 1994 up to 1996, Ford E-450 vans from 1996 to 2002, 1998 Mercury Mountaineers, as well as 1998 Ford Explorers. But keep in mind that the recall does not include vehicles that are fueled by diesel.
