I have a weird hobby, or rather I should say I used to have a weird hobby. Whenever I went into a store that had paint color samples, I would have to take some. It wasn’t a stealing thing, because as we all know these are free, but I just had to have them for some reason. Perhaps I was fascinated with color, or perhaps I thought I needed to redecorate the world. I’m really not sure. I don’t take them any longer, and I barely give them a glance.

I recently found my stash of paint color samples in the bottom of a box. I laughed when I found them, because I hadn’t remembered saving them. They were there, and I thought I would throw them away. My daughter came in right at that moment and her eyes got big when she saw them. She wanted to take the paint color samples to her room to play with. She sat with them in her room for hours naming the colors, and then she used them as a road for some of her cars. They laid like that on her floor

for many days, end to end, a rainbow of colors used as a roadway. Perhaps it is genetic.

Paint color samples actually serve a purpose, and they come in all

different forms. You can get sheets of them, or you can even find wood slates with the paints on them. My husband has a set

in his car that covers the full range of colors his supplier has. He works in building construction, so he needs to have one of these. When I first looked at it, I could not believe how many shades of one color exist. These can be invaluable in both business and residential décor for not only the builder but for also the homeowner.

If you have to find paint color samples, and you can’t seem to locate the exact shade you are looking for, you can take a sample in to see if they can match it. Some companies have computers that can exactly match any color, no matter how uncommon it is. You can get a color off of a piece of cloth or just about any object you can carry in. Your color may even be added to the paint color samples they have in the store. If you still can’t get what you want, try another stores. Different companies have different colors.
