Site Page Tracker: Track Your Progress In The Search Engines
When you try to earn your income by driving unpaid traffic to you web site, you'll find a long road ahead of you. While Pay Per Click marketing can pull prospects to your site instantly, it will often eat most of your sales if you're not careful.
The cheap road of natural search engine placement requires a lot of endurance. Sure, there are small successes as you move along, yet it is often many weeks if not months before there is any notable traffic on your main keywords from the search engines.
I don't know if you relate to this, but I get disheartened when I can't quickly see my results. I am very used to tracking two specific stats which are all but nonexistant for new sites. These stats include unique visitors and clicks on my ads and affiliate links.
If I am to stay in this SEO game, I need to begin measuring my successes using different stats. These stats are the number of pages indexed along with number of sites linking to you. Both of these stats will translate into good ranking for my keywords, but this will take some time. In the meantime I can be happy as I watch my pages indexed and backlink counts get larger each day.
To help track these stats, I created a PHP script to help me do just this. It accepts input of every site you want to track. You can even keep stats on article titles to understand how far and wide your article is appearing on the Internet. Each day I simply click the "Update Stats" button and it draws the latest stats for each of my domains and articles. It even keeps the data each day so I can see my progress.
Be encouraged. Whether you use this software or you record these numbers manually, your marketing efforts are bearing fruit. It is crucial that you keep on track and find your little victories along the way.
