Business Success: The Inside Secret
People who are looking to be successful in their home business or any small business always ask “How do you make it? What is the secret? How do you accomplish all of the days tasks and responsibilities of running your own business and getting everything done?” The key lies in motivating yourself to move your business and not sitting back waiting for someone to handle your business for you.
As many successful entrepreneur and professionals concur, daily challenges should be broken down into short and long term daily goals that can be taken in and easily accomplished. Some professionals call it their DMO: Daily Method of Operation. This includes the plan of objectives for the day in order of importance or comfort, i.e. wash face, brush teeth, shower, get coffee, make sales calls, do your marketing lead generation, etc. You will feel what is right for you and what works in your day.
Have you ever tried to put together a bicycle, only to find that here are parts missing or that there are wrong parts leftover? What frustration Without a DMO, this is what your business can feel like. Anxiety and a sense of failure can loom over your confidence like a crushing weight ready to fall. It can affect you in such a way, that giving up would feel like a welcome release.
So what is, “Doing the Do?” This simply means focusing you attention on your DMO and doing each tasks without exception or distraction. Every agitation that presents itself during your day will seem as important as your DMO but that when you stop and examine the importance of each.
“Is this new situation going to keep me on task or take me away from the goals I have set?”
“Is this an everyday distraction or is it more important than what I have set before me?”
Once you have learned to push aggravation and failure out of your mind, you can finally move on to making your business a success. Remember this a process and it all takes root in “Doing the Do.”
