Vitamins and Diet For Acne
Basically acne is inflamation of the skin caused by a sebaceous gland located at the base of a hair follicle becoming clogged with natural oils causing a bacterial buidup. Adolescents are more prone to have this skin condition, but it can happen at any age.
Elevated, inflamed, reddened areas of the skin is one of the symptoms of an acne sore or pimple as they are called.Blackheads that become inflamed shows that better cleansing of the area is needed. Pimples that have whiteheads on them shows that there is possible poor absorption of the B1 vitamin. Acidophilus supplements are sometimes used to help increase the absorption of vitamins.
Food allergies, soaps, facial cleansers makeup, and dairy products are some of the causes of acne.
So, what can a person do to send away acne and have a more pleasant, smooth skin? One of the best things to do is to be sure to get your daily vitamin/mineral requirements; especially the B complex vitamins and vitamin A/beta-carotene.Also 80 mg of zinc, and an omega-3 fatty acid supplement. Consider also a supplement of a good multi-vitamin/mineral supplement.
Diet should also be examined in our quest to rid ourselves of acne. One should eat several servings daily of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables. You should limit your consumption of vegetable fats and saturated fats. One should also limit comsumption of alcohol, caffienated foods and drinks, and refined sugars. The amount of fiber in your diet should be increased as well. Also good for acne is carrot juice with celery and beet juices.
Cleansing of the area is beneficial to care of the skin. Using a mild soap and water wash the face several times a day. After washing, rinse the area with warm water.Don't use makeup that has any kind of oil as an ingredient; use water-based makeup. Soaps that are recommended has the herb calendula as an ingredient, it helps clean the skin without irritation.
Herbal remedies that are included for acne are: burdock tea, three or four times a day, a capsule of aloe vera gel and Oregon grape powder.
