Diabetes is spreading between people
Latest studies done by experts show that is going to spread by 7 percent among adult people by the year 2005. They say that the reason of this is the bad health habits by people shortage of heart health knowledge. It is expected that there will be around 380 million people in the next twenty years. The number of diabetics has jump in the last two decades from 30 to 246 million.
Martin Silink, incoming president of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) said that this is a disease which is spreading slowly between people. All people are in danger of this disease.
Diabetes is considered as one of the most emerging disease in the public health, also diabetes is similar to AIDS in the number of deaths yearly. It kill around 3.8 million people every year by heart attacks and heart strokes.
The rate of diabetics is very high; 7 million people are suffering each year. Most of these people are in developed countries. People in developed country eat more fat which in turns raises obesity between people, as we know obesity is one of major causes of heart disease. Because of this reason, most of diabetics are from developed countries.
It is advised by doctors that people in rich countries watch their health habits and diets, in addition people must do exercises regularly. This will help to prevent and fight diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is increasing faster in the Middle East, for instance the rate between people in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in around 16 to 20 percent. The highest rate of diabetes occurs in the small South Pacific nation of Nauru which is greater than 30 percent. China and India have the highest number of diabetics which is 40 million.
In the year 2005 studies showed that diabetes is spreading quickly in developing countries, according to Jonathan Shaw of the International Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
Experts expect that the rates will double in South America, and will increase by 80 percent in Africa and 56 percent Indian sub-continent.
Diabetes is not just a health matter or just a social wellbeing matter; it is also an economic matter. Many countries which suffer from diabetics high rates can not handle the costs of diabetes care.

The effect of the new western life style on diabetes rates is very high, we could recognize this by comparing two countries with similar cultures and different economy. Only ten percent of people in Tunisia suffer from heart disease, while in the United Arab Emirates where the new life style spreads between people the rate is doubled.
