Can Vibrational Plates Make You Stronger Faster??
Vibrational platforms or plates are being sold as a way to make you stronger, faster, and with little effort. They are intended to be used as a complement to a well rounded exercise routine which includes stretching and lifting weights.
Vibrational platform research has been around since the 1960's space movement. It operates on the principle that if muscles are exercised while being vibrated that neighboring muscle fibers will also be activated. When you workout on a vibrating platform, it does most of the work.
Athletes often use vibrational plates to improve their speed and vertical jump. It can also decreases their warmup time and increases their range of motion. The only time vibrational training is not recommended for an athlete is right before his/her event when they need to be in top form. It is considered an excellent addition during any portion of the training season.
Studies with senior citizens have shown improved strength and proprioception. Balance and coordination were also improved as a result of using the platforms.
While vibrational strength apparatus has many uses from strength to rehabilitation programs it is often cost prohibitive for many health clubs. Equipment may range from 00-,000 per peice.
Following is a summary of the benefits the average person can get from vibrational training when combined with an overall fitness routine:
*increased strength and growth of lean body mass
*increased range of motion
*improved circulation
*possible reduction of bone loss
