Learning Self-Defense The Right Way…
Sadly, as society changes and violence continues to increase, the odds that you might have to defend yourself or a loved one is increasing…
Self-defense training at some level is necessary for everyone. But what is the best form of training and how do I find it?
Many organizations offer training workshops and training sessions that will teach you self defense. That is great but it is not always your best option! You can also start taking a form of martial arts to learn self-defense as well…
You MUST be careful with self-defense training as learning the WRONG way can often cause you more problems the not learning any training at all… Why? It is very simple – The more training that you learn, the more self-confidence you will have. And that is not a good thing if the training you have is ineffective!
You could find yourself in a situation where you actually need to use what you have learned and try and defend yourself and discover that what you learned won’t work… Before you know it the attacker will have beaten you senseless.
Your best bet for learning self defense is to learn a martial art. Most have been around for many decades and even centuries. The defense strategies that these art forms teach have been so effective that people have concurred whole nations with their bare hands using these techniques!
You don’t have to get your black belt to be able to defend yourself in a defense situation… But you do need to learn the foundational techniques. Also, you must realize that the goal of self-defense is to GET AWAY from your attacker or dangerous situation! Not to beat someone within an inch of death. That will get you locked away in jail for use of excessive force.
So if you are considering training for self-defense, make sure you checkout a few martial art schools in your area and find out what they have to offer and then test the school with a free class or a free month! And always remember, you must keep up your training… If you just learn self-defense once, a month from now your not going to remember it at all and that could get you into big trouble…
