How Do You Keep Your Carpet Clean and Fresh? Here Are The Best Ways To Keep it Like It was Just Installed.
Would you like to keep your carpet clean and fresh? Of course you would, so here are a few helpful hints to help you achieve that. Stain cleaners and odor eliminators have some advantages but if you use these products in an incorrect way, you can actually do more damage than good. Here is one tip to keep your carpet looking good. Vacuum your carpet on a weekly basis. It is best to vacuum slowly over the entire carpet. Don't pass to quickly or it will not pick up all the dirt no matter how strong the suction is. Another helpful hint is to clean one section at a time and vacuum both ways until cleaned. This will remove all dirt out of the carpet which and will save the fibers in your carpet from damage. Many people make the mistake of using soap based cleaner to remove stains. This sometimes causes too much liquid on a stain. When this is done, the stain could return or a new one could appear. Some cleaners help the stains remerge because the soap removes dirt from shoes and leave it on the carpet. When this happens in excess, the stain will soak down into the bottom of the carpet or even into the padding. But don't be fooled by this because it may look like it is gone but the liquid will be soaked up from underneath and more than likely to reappear. If you spill something get to it immediately using a towel and blot it. If not, it could be soaked into the carpet. For best results on pet urine spots, are a teaspoon of mild detergent and a teaspoon of white vinegar mixed with a quart of water. This should eliminate the stain. You do not want to rub a stain as this could cause the stain to spread. Try blotting the stain with a clean towel and standing on it for a few seconds. This way it will soak up as much liquid as possible.
