Fridges of our era
Not surprisingly, the fridges that we see and use nowadays are very different from those of the past. Not only they boast sophisticated defrosting technologies and extra features that make our daily life easier but they are also a part of the homes’ design style.
The majority of modern refrigerators include a technology called “Automatic defrosting”; this is something you should definitely seek for, it’s a must for all modern fridges. Have you ever noticed how simple, cheap refrigerators tend to fill up with ice after a few weeks? Well, save yourself from having to periodically empty the refrigerator and turn it off in order to clean the ice. Fridges that feature defrosting technology will automatically melt the ice so you will never have to think about it.
Another important feature is a power failure warning witch will inform you about the highest temperature that has been reached inside the fridge (during the power failure) as well as whether or not your food might have created harmful bacteria during that period. This info is displayed in a digital “screen” that the fridge features. Some fridges will also notify you when the time to change the water filter comes.
Some larger fridges will also contain cold water and ice from an in-door station; this way, you can just put your glass of water inside the “station” and press a button to get cold water or ice. You don’t even have to open the fridges door at all!
A very good feature is a cooling zone witch ‘occupies’ the refrigerators door shelves. Juice, milk and whatever else you have on the doors shelves is better cooled because air from the freezer is directed towards the door.
Apart from all the above technologies, you should keep a close eye on the capacity of the fridge. Do the shelves serve your storing purposes well? Will they be adequate to store everything that you are used to keeping inside your fridge? After you have thought about those important features you can then consider about jumping to the more fancy features such as trendy design or a built in television. Then, probably the last thing that you would have to consider is the fridges color. Yes, most fridges nowadays will come with beautiful colors; the white – only fridges of the past are as the word suggests a thing of the past.
