Get yours too - Free Items Given Away Daily Worldwide
There is a select group of Americans across our nation who have taken recycling a step further. Communities are using local bulletin boards on their computer to post offer ads to get rid of unwanted items. This wonderful idea started by ordinary citizens is creating many benefits for our nation.
We live in a society of change where we are constantly getting rid of the old for something new. Some of us discard slightly used items at the local goodwill but most of us find it much more convenient to simply throw them away. This constant waste of our natural resources leads to bulging landfills, pollution, more demand thus higher product costs, and other negative aspects.
A group of people in Tucson, Arizona started an organization called The Freecycle Network. It began in 2003 and has grown to over 2 million members across the globe. You can start this program in your community by joining at http//freecycle.org/. A local search for recycling may reveal other similar programs.
This action taken by ordinary Americans will have an impact on our nation in many different areas. It offers a way to help the less fortunate so it may reduce crime while creating good will. Elderly people on a fixed income who want something heavy removed from their yard for free will find this beneficial. In addition to reducing items sent to our landfills it will conserve our natural resources. It will also help reduce our national trade deficit and dependence of oil from other nations.
There is one rule that all members fully appreciate. It has to be free. You simply post a want or offer for an item and others reply. This is ideal for unwanted items in your garage that you will never use, but realize are too valuable to throw away. If you are a college student and need an item for class such as a camera but don’t want to spend over 0.00 for one, you may find an individual who wants to dispose of one. If you have a wheel chair taking up space in your garage and no use for it, you could offer it to a person who may be in desperate need of one.
Before you give or throw something away remember the following wise words. Do you know what the definition of trash is? Something you threw away yesterday that you need today. An old junk dealer in Arkansas taught my father that when he was a young boy during WWII. A saying that I find rings true still today.
