On hursday night it will be the biggest Big East showdown in the history of the conference. No.3 West Virginia takes on No. 5 Louisville in front of a nationally televised ESPN audience.

"I hope our guys feel every day they have something to prove," West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez told reporters. "If they don't have something to prove, they don't belong here."

This game may come down to a battle of which quarterback will be able to perform better, WVU’s Pat White or Louisville’s Brian Brohm. Since Brohm has been hurt for part of the year, it would seem White would be more suited for success on Thursday.

"I got about two months of football in, then I had to sit out another month,” Brohm, who commands the nation's second-ranked total offense (496.1 yards per game) and its fifth-ranked scoring offense (38.7 points per game), told the Charleston Daily Mail. "So, just getting back on the field and getting those reps back and getting back to seeing things and getting back in the flow really will help me here."

Cincinnati Gets By: Sitting through the first half of the Cincinnati vs Syracuse game could be compared to going through a 90-minute coma. OK, it would be wrong to say that you’d rather have been in a coma. But six total points! Anyways, QB Dustin Grutza recorded Big East Player of the Week honors after he was 13 of 18 for 205 yards and a touchdown in the Bearcats' 17-3 win.

Another Boring Big East Week: A week after the Big East had only three games on the schedule, the load gets even lighter. Yes, just two games on the docket in the conference. The big one, obviously, comes on Thursday night with the Mountaineers and the Cardinals. Then on Saturday, the Big East has a quality matchup between the Pittsburgh Panthers and South Florida Bulls.
