Entertainment Prop. Report
Entertainment Prop. Report by betwwts and Ecobika gambling
September is upon us, which means the start of the new TV season. While the returning series will generate a lot of interest among viewers, what will be of more interest are the new shows. So far five new shows have aired on the major networks as of September 18. Those shows include Justice, The Class, Til Death, Happy Hour and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Justice involves a group of attorneys who go to any lengths to help their wealthy clients. The show mirrors a lot of what would be seen on court TV and was likely produced as a result of high profile cases like O.J. Simpson and Robert Blake. The show has received excellent reviews and was given a high rating from viewers at tv.com. The Class involves a group of 20 somethings who were friends in grade 3 and meet up at a surprise party and the show focuses on how their lives have evolved. It appears this is a Friends wannabe, but based on reviews is off to a poor start. The show has received lackluster reviews and received the lowest rating of the 5 shows on the tv.com viewer poll. Til Death is Brad Garret's comedy about a long married couple who move in next door to newlyweds. Brad Garrett works as a history teacher in the same school that the newlywed husband (Eddie Kaye Thomas) is the school principal. The wives are played by Joely Fisher and Kate Foster. The show certainly resembles Everybody Loves Raymond but with different professions and Brad Garrett as the star rather than Ray Romano. The premiere show had good reviews. Happy Hour involves a man who had everything going for him but was dumped by his girlfriend and moves into an apartment with another man who has a different outlook on life. It certainly sounds a lot like the Odd Couple and has received mixed reviews. It appears to be the most vulnerable of the new shows. Lastly Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip involves a comedy show that is going downhill and an all star cast tries to save it. Included in the cast are Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford, Ed Asner and others. The show has received rave reviews from those who have seen it and appears to be the fall blockbuster drama. One major negative it has going against it, is that it is up against CSI Miami which has been a top rated show in the Neilsen ratings for 2 consecutive years now.
BetWWTS, has examined the shows and offered odds on whether these shows will be renewed for the 2007-2008 season. The odds are as follows. More odds will be offered on new shows as they are debuted.
Til Death YES it will be renewed 1/10 NO it won't be renewed 6/1 Studio 60: YES 1/10, NO 6/1 Justice: YES 1/8, NO 5/1 The Class: YES 1/6, NO 4/1 Happy Hour: YES 1/4 NO 3/1
In other news, Survivor Pearl Islands debuted with the controversial tribes based on racial lines. Sekou Bunch the African American Jazz Musician was the first to be voted out. BetWWTS adjusted its lines and now has John Calderon, the volleyball player and Nathan Gonzales the salesman as the co 7/1 favorites. As well the African-American tribe has been instilled as the 4/1 longshot to produce the show winner as a result of Buch's elimination. The other tribes are all 2/1.
