BALTIMORE -120 (LOEWEN) VS. TAMPA BAY (HAMMEL) 7:15 ET Jason Hammel has done nothing so far this season for me to find a reason to back him; even at home. He's just way too wild for my taste, and the O's bats have been hot of late. Look for the O's to take the second of this three game set with relative ease. The O's picked up a victory last night behind a solid outing from Eric Bedard who pitched 7 strong innings to pick up his 15th win of the season. This Adam Loewen kid looks to be one of the O's top hurlers down the road, and I'm looking for him to come out and shut down the Rays anemic line-up. He comes into this spot pitching decently in his L/3 going 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA, and he's only given up 14 hits in 17 innings of work. In fact, he's only given up 14 earned runs in his L/6 starts, and has given up more than 6 hits only once during that stretch.

BOSTON -120 (WAKEFIELD) VS. MINNESOTA (GARZA) 7:05 ET Even though the Red Sox are all but done for this season, I like the way their playing of late. They just took 3 of 4 from the Yanks in the Stadium to at least make up for the debacle that occurred earlier this season at Fenway, and have now won two consecutive series. The Twins come into this match-up still sizzling hot. they're winners in 8 of their L/10 overall, and just got done taking three of four from the Tribe at the Jake. That being said, this won't be an easy series for the Twinkies whatsoever. The Twins are much more beatable away from the Twinkiedome as evidenced by their 38-37 mark. Boston's been a fantastic home team this year, and I see no reason why Mr. Knuckleballer isn't a larger overall chalk in this spot. Matt Garza has done absolutely nothing to impress me, and I'm looking for him to get shelled tonight. He got shellacked by the Yanks in a similar road venue, and Fenway should be a house of horrors for him. His weak off speed stuff just won't cut it, and the Red Sox will get healthy off him as they look to continue playing their role of spoiler.

ARIZONA +130 (HERNANDEZ) VS. SAN DIEGO (HENSLEY) 10:05 ET Livan has been pretty solid in his L/2 starts only giving up 8 hits and 3 earned runs in 15 innings of work, and he used to own the Pads when he used to pitch for the Giants. I see a lot of value in this spot with the road dawg after the Padres suffered one of the worst losses of the entire season just last night. It really was painful to watch the Pads go down in flames last night at Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers tied an MLB record with four consecutive HR's to tie the game up in the bottom of the 9th, and then proceeded to win it in extra innings when Nomar Garciaparra hit a walk off 2-run homer. These types of losses, especially now, can send a team on a downward spiral that they can't recover from. A win last night, and the Padres would have gone from the Wild Card leader to the NL West leader with a 1.5 game lead. I think this might have been the final straw to break the Padres back. I've never been impressed by their play this year, and it's finally going to catch up to them over the last two weeks. They can't hit the ball. They play .500 ball at home (38-37 overall), and the snakes have won 7 of their 12 meetings this season.
