The eighth position is won by Western Bulldogs. The have collected overall 52 points in the League round with 13wins and nine losses.
The above top eight teams are at present playing the Qualifying rounds for getting entry to the Semifinals.
Let us now see the positions in the Qualifying and Elimination Finals of this year’s tournament.
In the Qualifying and Elimination Finals match played on 8th September 2006, St Kilda Saints beat Melbourne Demons. The match played at Melbourne Cricket Club Ground attracted a crowd of 67,528
In another match in the Qualifying and Elimination Round played on 8th September 2006, Adelaide Crows beat Fremantle Dockers played at Football Park Ground which attracted a crowd of 42000.
In other match of Elimination Final on Friday 8 Sep 2006, Melbourne Demons defeated. St Kilda.
On Saturday, 9 September, Adelaide Crow defeated Fremantle Dockers in Qualifying Final.
In another match on Saturday, 9 September Sydney Swans created surprise by defeating West Coast Eagles, the top team in the Ladder after preliminary round matches.
On Sunday, 10th September, Collingwood Magpies was defeated by Western Bulldogs at Melbourne Cricket Club Ground.
For your information, Semi Final matches will be played on 15th and 16th September. On September 22nd and 23rd, the Preliminary Final Matches will be played and the Toyota 2006 AFL Grand Final will be played on 30th September.
